Water Supply and Tailings Dams

PSM provides a complete investigation and design service for embankment dams whether for water supply or tailings storage. Services include:

• Hydrological analysis for planning and spillway design,

• Geotechnical site investigations including on site laboratory geotechnical testing and investigation of hydrogeological characteristics,

• Sizing of coffer dams and temporary diversion works based on hydrological risk assessment,

• Detailed design of embankments for static and earthquake loadings, and

• Specifications and documentation for contract purposes.

PSM has been responsible for the design and/or construction supervision of more than 20 dams, including a 76 and 126m high rockfill dams at the Kelian Gold Mine in East Kalimantan, Indonesia.
